The Eighth Monthly Jazz Composer Forum will be at the Left Bank Restaruant on Monday August 26. A Free wine tasting begins at 7:30. Seating at 8:00 and 9:30 for the concert. Admission $10.00 reduced to 6.00 for students. We should have a compilation CD on sale as well as CD's of past performers. Tax Deductible Donations are being accepted and advertising space is avaliable for our future brochure of upcoming concerts. The Taken Back Quartet will present all new originals for first show and the second show features the amazing Quentin Baxter, composer/drummer and Kebbi Williams,composer/tenor sax. These two come to us from Charleston, South Carolina and have played for the Coastal Jazz Association monthly concert in Savannah, Ga under the name Emanon adopted by a group of young musicians who shared a common musical influences and goals. The membership of Emanon has grown to 12 musicians and have been performing since 1998 in different configurations, from duo to octets.Quentin Baxter, a Charleston native and graduate of the College of Charleston is now a proffessor of Jazz Drumset there. He has performed with Monty Alexander, Bobby Watson, and Eddie Henderoson. Kebbi Williams, a native of Atlanta, Ga received both his B.M. and M.M. from Howard University. His father is a bassist and saxophonist. He received a 1997 honorable mention for "outstanding jazz soloist" by Downbeat Magazine. He played with Jeff "Tain" Watts, Abbey Lincoln, Otiel Burbridge, and Russell Gunn.
